SD Retracted: Bala was forced to lie

Another surprise move by Malaysian version of Mr. Sherlock Holmes. Nearly 24 hours after stunning the nation with a statutory declaration claiming a senior’s politician had sexual intercouse with Altantuya, PI Balasubramaniam retracts part of his SD today.

Among the parts retracted are that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak introduced Razak to Mongolian murder victim Altantuya Shaariibuu and that Najib had a sexual relationship with her – The Star

In addition to this, he also stated that he was forced to sign yesterday’s statutory declaration by someone unnamed by him. Even his lawyer Mr. Americk Singh Sindhu doesn’t know of this retraction and I was informed that Bala didn’t take any questions after this morning’s the press conference.

For the record, Bala also claimed that he was also forced to sign the police statement while he was detained in relation to Altantuya’s murder investigation.

So guys, the questions now are:

1. How far reliable is Bala’s words?

2. Can statutory declaration be trusted as the  ‘truest evidence’?

3. How much damage does this retraction brought on Bala’s credibility?

4. Finally, the most important of all, who is playing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle behind the scene?

Some supporters of Anwar might have a lower tone regarding this matter, unlike yesterday. That’s one of the reasons why I would rather be in the middle.

More statutory declarations coming? Commissioner of Oaths would love it!

  1. The Malaysian Insider has it. The man was threatened. And to make it worse. He has only removed the Najib part. Hoy…this makes it juicier.

“He told friends yesterday that he had come under severe pressure after releasing the statutory declaration.”

  2. Again, why not cancel all the SD? Why simply remove the Najib parts alone? Again, that doesn’t help bcoz Najib’s parts were 4, whil3 51 parts have been retained. Which one makes it make forced? And who forces someone? The one who has instruments of power and the other one? And which part of the following statements read “forced”.

“I, Balasubramaniam a/l Perumal a Malaysian Citizen of full age and residing at [deleted] do solemly and sincerely declare as follows” :-

    …………………….
    …………………….
    …………………….
    …………………….
    …………………….

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same be true and by virtue of the provisions of the Statutory Declaration Act 1960.

  3. Again, if you are not an emotional person, you will realise that new twist damages Najib more than it damages Bala or Anwar. It was only yesterday where 77 local and foreign journalists had a field day in asking him questions. Today, he refused to give one answer and run off. Forced? Definately he was forced to lie by the powers that be. Remember, Najib, IGP Musa Hassan and AG Patail who are in charge of Malaysia’s Securityu, Defence, Intelligence, Criminal and Justice system are fighting for their lives. This simple retractio of the Najib alone parts, will even make it juicier and more wild. This will lead to more pressure and the setting up of a Commission of Enquiry. Do you like it? Najib said why should he be investigated. I thought he should have said yes and pleaded innocence not ask: “Why should I be investigated?”

  4. And if you didn’t get again, read Malaysiakini again.

    You may have missed:

““Balasubramaniam’s lawyer has told Malaysiakini that Balasubramaniam was contacted by the police soon after his press conference yesterday. He last saw his client after dropping him off at the Brickfields police station at 4.45pm.”

Contacted by the police directly after PC? Last seen being handed over to the cops? Retraction first thing next day?………………………”

  6. thanks francis,

well that’s one theory behind it.. i’m in the middle, i trust not balasubramaniam nor najib camp in this case.. having said that, i still think the statutory declaration deserves a full scale investigation due to serious allegations involving the top persons in malaysian judiciary, legislative and executive systems.

people can say almost anything they would like to.. that’s the price to pay for living in this free world..

francis i knew from your response that u have already picked a side.. that doesn’t mean everyone already picked their sides too.

  7. lovemalaysiaforever

Why trust local police, they are working for PM & DPM mah….

I can’t understand this, the best is let FBI, CIA to investigate the case because it is a high profile and involved a foreigner victim Mongolian…

  8. lovemalaysiaforever,

FBI? CIA? are u going to let Americans have their hands on our country? look what happened to Iraq, Afghanistan.. they came to ‘help’ those countries, didn’t they

i love my country too, as much as u do.

  9. ruzaimi,

francis picked a side after think a few steps further, not like you just think within the ‘tempurung’.

  10. thaqif

the issue is not about me, it’s about bala’s sd, i have sets of questions which need to be looked into. So it’s ok if you want to say i’m thinking within the ‘tempurung’ at least i’m trying to do some thinking rather than swallowing without questioning the facts from najib’s camp or anwar’s camp.

owh btw, i appreciate francis’s effort to further enlighten me and fellow readers in this blog. That one i didn’t deny.

  11. mmm…. fishy isn’t it…

i think the more they want to cover up the truth the more it becomes apparent.

and the arrogance of this DPM by saying, ‘why shd I be investigated?’

why not? who do u think u are? u r just an employee of the rakyat, silly!

God help us. May justice and the truth prevail soon. Amin.

  12. All you guys are getting side tracked. Bodowi is the one enjoying this the most. Cos since this whole saga started the sportlight is off him for once. Najib is thrown into a fight. Being pitted against DSAI. And since DSAI claims he has more proof on its way. One wonders if Bodowi is using DSAI to get rid of his enemies.

  13. Ruzami,

You have already taken sides as well. I think we don’t need any explanation from you. Taking sides is not the problem, though you said I have taken sides. How did you know? I simply stated what I have observed and in order for me not to be blamed for fantasy, I have provided links and raised pertinent questions. If that means taking sides, then I’m happy to take the side of critical thinking and utmost enquiry which leads to independence and the truth.

Since we are talking about two SD, let’s examine certain points.

    1. Yesterday, he was all happy and chatted with every journalist, local and foreign.
Today, he refused to talk or take a single question from anyone.

    2. Yesterday, his meeting was announced 24 hrs before it was scheduled.
Today’s meeting was in obscure hotel where few journalists were called in.

    3. Yesterday, he was a happy man, vety jovial and chattery.
Today, BN newspaper the Star wrote that he “was visibly perturbed”

    4. Yesterday, he has informed the people and the journalists who were the people who have jailed him, harassed him, omitted his evidence and maltreated him.
Today, he didn’t say who has forced him. Who has given instructions. Who has mistreated him. He simply refused to talk but run out of the hall visibly disturbed with deep eyes.

    5. Yesterday, he didn’t meet the police before he released his SD in front of world media and local as well,
Today (yesterday’s night) he has spent in BrickFields where he was immediately summoned after he has released his SD and was taken to the station by his former lawyer.

    6. Yesterday, he has released a comprehensive SD touching on Najib, Musa Safri, Baginda, Police, Prosecution, Witnesses (etc),
Today, he has released the same SD but the parts that referred to Najib removed. All other people were retained. (Ha ha! I wonder who advises these people.)

    7. Yesterday, he was a well combed man, with office shirt- and well prepared
Today, he was wearing a dirty T-Shirt with a cap and a was acrrying a plastic bag (black). As his new lawyer talked, he didn’t talk, chat, look up, greet or handshake anyone unlike yesterday.

……..These are simple observations that any intelligent being can pick and realise what’s going on. Furthermore, it is not Bala or Anwar who is in charge of the Defence, Security, Intelligence, Criminal and Justice system of this country but the 3 men accused of conspiracy and evidence manipulation. (Najib, Musa and Patail). You don’t need a child to know who uses force. It is not Anwar who seeks shelter at Embassies fearing for himself but the men who exercise that power over the said institutions.

PS: The Deputy PM doesn’t need Bala to retract any statement which is a perjury now and a criminal act in the penal code. He only needs to file a defamtion suit. Can’t he? If yo are innocent, why trouble yourself with Bala? Just go to the court and said you were defamed and there you go and get your due. When he was asked yesterday, he refused to file a suit, just like he and Rosmah refused to file a defamation suit against Raja Petra. If people are mudslinging you, insulting, incriminating you, and you are innocent, why not seek justice? It is because he knows in courts evidence will be produced and knowing that the Altantuya case has been pre-arranged (we have followed it as a nation), he hopes that by simply denying SDs and refusing to file suits, things will get cooled and he will move on. Heavenly no. Malaysia’s name is at stake. It is not about him, about Anwar or Badawi. It is about this nation and its people.

NB: If he has no confidence in the judiciary of this country by refusing to seek justice at the courts by filing defamation suits against his accusers, who else will trust the regime? The dead? Oh, I’m sorry…we are alive. Thanks to God!

  14. Bala patut but satu polis repot therhadap DSAI jika DSAI paksa Bala but Akuan 1. Mahkamah akan tentukan siapa bohong. Bala ke? DSAI ke? Razak Baginda ke? atau NAJIB? Powerlah drama minggu ini. Nak mengumumkan kebenaran dan jadi orang baik pun susah. Kesian Bala.

  15. Francis,

What an explanation, let us not get tangled with issues which sides do we picked, and let’s address the main issue.

I am sure we are in sync about this one thing, that is we don’t want our nation to be destroyed by certain politicians personal ambitions. Am i right?

Therefore, let’s look into ways of handling this matter legally and in line with the judiciary system that we have. I might be completely wrong if i suggest those named in the SD must at least be suspended from work in the duration of investigation. And formation of Royal Commission might help, BUT in the end everything will go back to our court system.

It’s vital that we have enough trust to our judiciary system, instead of bowing down to America’s cautions, we can opt for an independent observers from neighbouring countries, say Brunei, or any other European countries – just as an observer.

As for me, I have trust in Malaysia’s judiciary system. If you think the judiciary system is not the best, still, some improvements have been made since.

Francis, we are lucky to be alive, but we’ll be dead sooner rather than later if this political roller coaster doesn’t stop.

What a debate we have here, I thank you for bright ideas and for giving me and fellow readers a different perspective of this issue. Well, somehow we have to learn to ‘agree to disagree’.

  16. M See A,

Susah nak jadi orang baik, tapi tak bermakna tak perlu jadi baik.

    Thanks for coming

  17. Francis, I feel sorry to you too because you layan budak UMNO ni…..! Ruzaimi mengalahkan arwah atok aku yang karat UMNO. Tapi atok aku tak sekolah…aku maafkan! Ruzaimi ni bakal doctor tu….tapi spin doctor.

  18. uncrowded,

kalau anda nak ikut undang-undang rimba, silakan

  19. Ruzaimi wrote: “As for me, I have trust in Malaysia’s judiciary system.”

Sure? This must be good. Do you know what’s the problem? Najib has no faith in Malaysia’s judiciary and that’s why he refuses to file a defemation suit against his accusers. Look, if you have faith in this institution, why not seek redress? If I were Najib, I would file a defamation suit, demand millions, tons of apology and an official retraction in a court of law published by newspapers with costs met by the slanderer.

Now, he refuses to do that. Why? Well, the dead can answer! No need for further explanation.

    – salam buat ruzaimi & semua

  21. Sex and the C4

    Sodomy is a useful word
    recently said and heard,
    in Malaysian homes and offices
    it’s all about famous orifices.
What is going on, you wonder
    when Bala steals the thunder,
    finger pointing the magic word
to the delight of a horny herd
    Organs united, names forgotten?
    VIPs are really rotten
Saiful he knows and did not know
doubts about Aminah begin to grow
of whose loose lips he was afraid
    but liked her other end instead;
of course he knew it wasn’t right
but it felt so good and tight!
You could not hump like Greeks
    the Hindenburg’s fat cheeks;
what her hubby found so succulent
    was making Rosmah trucculent.
And so she thought, the time was due
    for a nice Mongolian barbecue.
Enter the analyst, not so anal,
    who found the girl too banal;
    fearing supernatural harm
    from her juicy feminine charm,
    he hired Bala straightaway
to keep the honeytrap at bay
but private dicks were of no match
    for Aminah’s superlative snatch
and now that Najib had had his fill,
    he would not share the till;
    right after the submarine deal,
    Aminah’s fate he would seal.
    Now Rosmah had one idea
    on how to kenakan dia
    “Let’s bomb the bombshell,
    let’s send her to hell.”
    Thus perished the hapless beauty
    after translation and booty duty;
    now Rosmah’s ass was happy
    until one blogger got yappy;
    this Hindenburg nearly caught fire
yet to sue she has no desire.
But Najib’s part in this murder
    will travel much further;
    despite his media actions
    and one or two retractions,
    some questions will remain
a big part of his bane–
    how did Altantuya really die?
and why did he have to lie?
Did he pay off Bala savvily,
or threaten to C4 his family?
What acts could be more despised?
    With his money, we’re not surprised;
after all, he’s such a bully beast,
to him and him alone, at least,
    magic words that cannot apply–
are useful for making rivals die.

  22. Dollah_undecided

SEMUA TIDAK ADIL. Kenapa Anwar dan Najib dapat spotlight. Abang Mat kawin satu lagi tak dapat……………..

I dont trust the Malaysian judiciary system at all! That may be an explaination for me for all the peculiar things that are happening now…
